Key Documents:

Marriage record for Yenta Gutman. We know Grandma's sister married Isaac Lederman in 1892 in Michow, which is what this record states, so this is definitely my great aunt Yenta.

This document gives Yenta's parents as Yankiel Gutman and Esther Shaindel Gutman (nee Handelsman). Yankiel and Shaindel are also given as the parents in documents of the birth of Dvora Gutman in 1868, marriage of Leah Gutman in 1896, marriage of Malka Gutman in 1899, and birth of Yenta in 1872.

The 1844 birth record of Yankiel in Kock is consistent with the ages given in the above documents. His parents are given as David and Tamar.

The 1872 death record of David Gutman in Kock mentions Yankiel as one of the survivors, and also names David's parents as Baruch and Yenta.

There is an 1846 record of the death of Baruch Gutman in Kock. David is mentioned as a survivor. Baruch's parents are given as Isaac and Mala.

There is a November, 1844 record of the death of Wolf Gutman, cleric, in Kock. His parents are given as Isaac and Mala. He is survived by his wife, Frieda.

In other documents concerning the children of Wolf and Frieda, Wolf is a tavern keeper. In July, 1844 a law took effect in Poland prohibiting Jews from tavern keeping. Presumably Wolf took up religious studies as a new career.
